Sophia Duleep Singh Mural 2019

We were awarded a grant from The Women's Centenary Fund to celebrate the life of the Sikh Princess, Sophia Duleep Singh. In order to make this project as relevant to the Sikh community as possible Art Eat commissioned the London-based Sikh artist Artful Skecha to come to Ipswich and lead design workshops with women and children at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara. The outcome of these workshops inspired the mural design resulting impactful commemorative piece of this prominent suffragette with connections to Suffolk and can be found on the Ipswich Waterfront close to the Jerwood Dance House.
